Petite fashion challenge #21: The Fashionators

This month's petite fashion challenge is hosted by one of my favorite bloggers: KTRStyle

Challenge: "This month’s challenge is to create an outfit for an occasion (of your choice: attending a wedding, in a wedding, a holiday party, Kentucky Derby, etc.) and utilize a headpiece as the focal point to make a “fashionator” statement. This headpiece can be a fascinator, a fancy headband, a delicate flower or a big hat. Feel free to get as creative as you like!"

I have to admit I'm still feeling shy to put on a real fascinator. Instead, I decided to wear a sequin headband to bring more holiday spirit. Growing up in Asia while living in the US, I often find myself at the crossfire (or sometimes nexus) of eastern and western culture with regard to fashion . Dilemma or privilege? I don't know. But I am trying to use it to my advantage anyway.

Hello everyone! My question today is how often do you shop? I myself do not have the budget to constantly buy new clothes. I always try to stretch my creativity to wear a same piece in different ways. Today'a outfit is an example. I revisited my old summer lace dress and pair it with a neutral blazer to create a fall outfit.

Fall floral peplum

Peplum is one of this season's trends of choice.When I first saw this gorgeous floral peplum top in the H&M Lana del Rey Collection campaign photos, I immediately fell in love with it. I adore the pretty floral print, and the way it cinches at the waist. I decided to pair it with a pencil skirt to create a feminine and elegant look today.

Bring on some Burgundy

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day so far!


I have so much fun putting my wardrobe together for the fall. I've noticed that Burgundy is definitely the it color of this season and am so loving it.  I picked up this burgundy sweater few months ago but didn't have a chance to wear this since the weather was still quite warm. Today the temperature dropped to about 40F and I was so excited to take this sweater out of my closet and paired it with my favorite pink dress.

Pittsburgh!

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing great. Last week, I went to Pittsburgh for a business trip. Even though the weather was not great due to Hurricane Sandy, I had a wonderful time meeting people and wandering around the city.
Located on the confluence of three rivers, Pittsburgh is absolutely beautiful. After a series of meetings, I took couple hours hopping on the historic Monongahela incline ride to Mount Washington. I was thrilled by the spectacular view of the rivers and the city. It might be a bit surprising to say Pittsburgh has one of the best skylines but it's so true. Before heading to the airport, I stopped by Andy Warhol museum, a great tribute to a pop art icon in history. Since I only caught last hour before my flight, I did not get to experience the full and thorough collection. I will definitely revisit there if I have another chance.
