Black and white are always two special colors in my closet no matter how much I love bright colors nowadays. I love to challenge myself to make the black/white ensemble more visually interesting. Today, I paired my simple black pants with white sweater and top it off with my collar necklace, which I got from ebay for 3 bucks.

Marchesa collection for JC Penney

Happy Wednesday!

One of the latest designer and department store collaboration is Pearl by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa collection for J.C. Penney. I've been loving the high fashion brand on many celebrities from Diane Kruger to Kerry Washington and super excited with the thought that I can scoop up one of the glam looks without having to splurge. Right in time for prom season (even though I'm too old for prom),  I'm really impressed with the red carpet glamour of the new collection and I'm loving every bit of it.

My most coveted piece from the line is the black dress combining the cute polka dot top with the super chic rosette skirt. The fit and flare silhouette and the standout rosette just grabbed my eyes and I couldn't keep away and of course this is my must have for the wardrobe. I however just wish it comes in more colors.

I also adore the chic lace blazer and shorts, black lace dress and the strapless red rosette dress

Happy Spring!!!

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! How have you been doing?

I'm so excited to be back to the blog. Thank you to all who have sent me sweet messages asking how I am doing. I had a very bad allergy all winter long. My lips were swollen and got very chapped which made me feel so miserable. Luckily, the weather is so much warmer now and I'm feeling much better and very eager to pull some of my spring pieces out of hibernation.

Asos lace dress for a date night

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying the weekend!

I must confess that I buy a lot of black pieces of clothing because I think they are classic, elegant and timeless. When I go into a shop and see a dress offered in black, red, yellow and blue, I definitely reach for the black without thought. During a 30% off sale, I decided to pick up a new black lace dress from Asos. I wore it with a black mini blazer, and black pumps to dinner tonight.

Old Navy red denim and polka dot top

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful day so far. 

If you go to my blog and read past posts of mine, you'd quickly see that I wear dresses and skirts much more frequent than pants.  For me, finding good pants/jeans  which fit me well and don't accentuate my big upper leg is quite a challenge. Last weekend, I stopped by Old navy and found some denims on their sale rack. I never have good luck finding decent ones there but I still decided to try again. I was surprised to find that I was lucky this time, the red one actually fit me well and looked quite good. I guess I'll keep checking Old Navy from now on then.

Color me happy

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Warm temperature has returned today (above 70F) and time for me to revisit some cheerful summer pieces.

There's something so feminine and classy about peplums. I've fallen head over heels for this trend since summer and been adding peplum shirts and dresses to my ever growing closet. I got this blue one in summer and have been wearing it non-stop since then. Today, I mixed it with multi-color striped skirt from Asos to create a fun casual look.

Petite fashion challenge #21: The Fashionators

This month's petite fashion challenge is hosted by one of my favorite bloggers: KTRStyle

Challenge: "This month’s challenge is to create an outfit for an occasion (of your choice: attending a wedding, in a wedding, a holiday party, Kentucky Derby, etc.) and utilize a headpiece as the focal point to make a “fashionator” statement. This headpiece can be a fascinator, a fancy headband, a delicate flower or a big hat. Feel free to get as creative as you like!"

I have to admit I'm still feeling shy to put on a real fascinator. Instead, I decided to wear a sequin headband to bring more holiday spirit. Growing up in Asia while living in the US, I often find myself at the crossfire (or sometimes nexus) of eastern and western culture with regard to fashion . Dilemma or privilege? I don't know. But I am trying to use it to my advantage anyway.
